Featured in the 2024 Autumn Winter Issue of aAh! Magazine, Wild Ivy explores unconventional and lesser-seen subcultures within Black culture, focusing on fashion tribes and styles that connect to my own identity and interests. Drawing from influences such as Black Ivy style, Black cowboy culture, maximalism within Hip Hop jewellery and equestrian fashion, the project challenges narrow representations of Black identity often portrayed through mainstream media.
Through styling and image-making, the editorial highlights the diversity, individuality and depth that exists within Black culture, encouraging audiences to view Black identity from a broader and more nuanced perspective.
